Kerstin Forsberg is the internationally awarded founder and director of Planeta Océano. She is a marine scientist and conservationist that has designed and developed numerous research and environmental education initiatives throughout Peru that have influenced Peruvian policy and legislation. Notably, influencing the passing of the 2015 Peruvian resolution to ban manta ray harvesting. She has contributed to several publications, chaired international events on education and conservation, presented in over 17 countries and has worked as an environmental consultant for both governmental, and private sectors, including UNESCO and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. She has been recognized by Ashoka, Forbes, the World Wildlife Fund, and the National Environmental Citizenship Award of Peru, among others.
